Lifebook / Commission

Commission, public artwork, 2015–2016
I was commissioned to work in two different locations, Matinkylä in Espoo (supported by Setlementtiliitto) and Itäkeskus in Helsinki (supported by Stoa). Lifebook was carried out together with the local inhabitants.

The main idea was to share something personal with others: such as a memory, a photo or a picture. I organized workshops where people came together with their pictures and stories. The materials they brought were designed and later printed into enamel signs. The signs were hung on public places: in Matinkylä on the fence of the overpass to the shopping center, and in Itäkeskus on the wall of the Stoa Cultural Center.
